Use Fussy Cutting with Heartfelt Blooms
I just love this stamp set. When I first saw it I thought it was nice, but that it was limited. Then, the more I played with it the more I realized it was quite versatile. You can see the other projects I created with it here and here. The main technique I used to create this card is called fussy cutting. It is called that because instead of using a die to cut it out you use scissors and just cut around the edges of the image. Typically you leave a thin edge of white around the image, but I thought that rather than enhancing the image it would take away from it. I am quite happy with how it turned out. You can see an example of fussy cutting here where I left a thin edge of white around the image.

- 2 scrap pieces of Whisper White card stock: Stamp the image on the using Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst.
Step 3:
Fussy Cutting.
- Using my card for reference cut a straight line into the Garden Green image where the leaves on the right begin. Then fussy cut around the leaves. You are only partially cutting out the image.
- Fussy cut the Sweet Sugarplum image. Here I cut around the flowers and cut off the leaves.
- Fussy cut the Berry Burst image. I just cut out the 3 small round flowers in the top left of the image.
Step 4:
Putting it all together.
- Use SNAIL to adhere the Garden Green card stock to the Thick Whisper White card base.
- Then, adhere the Wood Textures DSP on top of the Garden Green layer.
- Use Dimensionals to adhere the Garden Green image on top of the Wood Textures DSP.
- Adhere the Sweet Sugarplum image, by lining it up with the image below, using dimensionals.
- Using Dimensional adhere the Berry Burst Image, by lining it up with the image below.
- Place a Clear Faceted Gem in the center of the main flower in Sweet Sugarplum.
