2019 January Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects: Part 2
How to Make 48 Valentine’s Day Treat Bags from the Kit
Hello Paper Crafters!! Did you know that you can make 48 Valentine’s Day Treat Bags from the 2019 January Paper Pumpkin Kit? The pillow boxes are super cute but what if you need more Valentine’s Day treats bags? I have designed four January 2019 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects from the kit. All you need is 1 package of 2” x 8” Cellophane Bags (50 per pkg.).
Animal Expedition Suite
Did you know that this Paper Pumpkin Kit coordinates with the Animal Expedition Suite? I just love this suite. The color palette is beautiful and there are so many great coordinating products!! There is a stamp set and thinlits bundle (Animal Outing Bundle) with really cute images of kangaroos, rhinos and giraffes. The Animal Expedition DSP is so fun!! There are hippos, alligators, sloths, frogs, birds, rhinos, kangaroos and giraffes. You can make some adorable projects with this suite.

The Project:
Step 1:
Cut your pieces.
- Pillow Box: Cut according to diagram: The large pieces for the tag toppers are 3 5/16” x 2 3/8”. Score in half at 1 11/16”.
- You will need to use another pillow box to cut two more tag toppers 3 5/16” x 2 3/8”, and then score in half.
- Cut the ¼” strip from the left side to 2 3/8” in length.
- The arrow pieces are 11/16” wide and approx. 7/8” long.
Step 2:
Stamp your images.
- Circle (scalloped): Stamp the chameleon on the circle in Melon Mambo ink. Use the stamp with slanted lines to stamp the pattern below the chameleon.
- Heart (scalloped): Stamp the bird on the heart in Melon Mambo ink. Use the tiny hearts pattern stamp to stamp below the bird.
- Long strips: Stamp “Be My Valentine” and “Happy Valentine’s Day” in Melon Mambo ink.
- Short strips: Stamp “You’re So Fly” and “You’re One-In-A Chameleon” in Melon Mambo ink.
Step 3:
Putting it all together.
Kangaroo Treat Bag:
Use dimensionals to adhere the kangaroo to the tag topper base. Adhere the sentiment to the oval piece with glue dots and trim off the excess.. The “Happy Valentine’s Day” banner is placed under the kangaroo with dimensionals. Then use a glue dot to glue the heart to the kangaroo’s right paw and place a small Melon Mambo epoxy heart on the left side of the sentiment.
Chameleon Treat Bag:
Use dimensionals to adhere the circle with the chameleon to the tag topper base. Adhere the sentiment to the arrow pieces with glue dots, and then use dimensionals to glue the sentiment below the chameleon. Place a large and a small Melon Mambo epoxy heart above the chameleon’s head.
Bird Treat Bag:
Use dimensionals to adhere the heart with the bird to the tag topper base. Adhere the sentiment to the 2 3/8” strip with glue dots, and then use dimensionals to glue the sentiment below the heart. Use a glue dot to adhere the red heart to the left of the heart then place a large Petal Pink epoxy heart in the center of the red heart.
2 Chameleons Treat Bag:
Use dimensionals to adhere the chameleons to the top of the tag topper base. Adhere the sentiment to the oval piece with glue dots and trim off the excess. Then place the sentiment below the chameleons with dimensionals. Place a large Petal Pink epoxy heart between the chameleon’s heads and a small Petal Pink epoxy heart on the left side of the sentiment.
