New Home Sweet Home Card Using Embossing Paste and Woodland Folder

Welcome to Your New Home Sweet Home!!

Hello Paper Crafters!! I have two really sweet projects for you today. The first is another card designed around a family event. My brother Dale and his wife Sandy have just finished having a new house built for them in the hill country surrounding Austin, TX. This has been a dream of theirs for some time now. So being a card maker, what else could I do but make a card for the occasion? I designed this New Home Sweet Home Card for them. All the products, with the exception of the bundle are current products. You could easily substitute the “Pop on By” bundle on page 41 of the current catalog. I tried to get the colors as close as possible to their new home. I had so much fun creating the faux stonework for my New Home Sweet Home Card.

There is an abundance of limestone in the area and is used on many homes.

My second card was inspired by my first attempt to stamp and emboss the background for card #1. I didn’t get a clean image across the entire piece of Balmy Blue cardstock. The right side of the piece was useable so I decided to cut off the part that wasn’t good. I don’t know about you, but when I am creating a card I always end up with perfectly good pieces that I didn’t use. With the best of intentions, I put them in a baggie to be used later. I have gobs of these baggies lying around. So today I decided I was going to use that piece to make a card. The rest of the pieces came from my scraps collection. I ended up with this sweet card. I added a couple of embellishments and I have a super cute card!!

Tip: I keep a sandwich baggie, one for each color, with the full sheets of card stock to use for punching or die cutting.
